Velvet is another option if you are looking for sheer elegance.
The fabric is heavier than silk and therefore offers a middle of
the road solution if you are looking for something that can keep
the sun out, but also offer a rich formal look. Both Silk and
Velvet are good fabric choices for curtains that will hang in a
room that will not have a lot of “little hands” reaching for
them.
