Q: HI! I'M JUST WONDERING WHAT KIND OF PAINT I WOULD USE TO PAINT A BLACK METAL BANISTER WHITE? IS THERE SPECIAL PAINT FOR THIS? SPECIAL PRIMER? WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR HELP. THANKS!
A: I don't know if this will help, but...I got an idea from a decorating show. They used car engine spray paint for painting metal. Because it was designed for metal. I havent tried it myself. It couldn't hurt to try it on something you don't care about first.
A: There is a spray paint called Krylon that covers everything from wood to plastic and is made to cover metal. Since it is a spray you don't have to worry about the brush. I have used it to paint my ugly olive green heater into a white color. You will need a few coats of it but a can at Wal-Mart is under a doller. It turned out great and I can't make it scratch off it works so well.
